Have you received a Direct Message from someone breaking the rules? Learn how to preserve, verify, and submit a Direct Message report to Security.
Direct Message reports must include a MessageValidator link whenever the message is still available to the reporter.
To create a MessageValidator archive, add MessageValidator to your Discord account, then use the context menu on the message to select Apps > MessageValidator > Publicize Message.
MessageValidator will send you a private reply with a shareable link to the public channel snapshot. Include that link in your report.
Each separate message being reported should be included.
When added to your account, MessageValidator can:
Create app commands required for displaying the options for you to Publicize Message and Unpublicize Message.
Send you direct messages or private replies required for displaying and providing your archive links.
MessageValidator cannot read your Direct Messages, view your private conversations, or send messages as you.
1: Right-click the message to open the context menu.
Tap and hold on mobile.
2: Select Apps > MessageValidator > Publicize Message.
Do this for each message you want to use as proof, including your own.
3: Copy the MessageValidator link.
If you saved multiple messages, use the channel link.
4: Paste the link in your report.
What the message text said at the moment it was publicized.
Who the author is.
The original version when you save it, even if edited or deleted later.
Message edits are not saved automatically. If the message is edited by the author after you publicize it, you can run Publicize Message again to archive the updated version.
Authors are not notified when Publicize Message is used on their messages.

The MessageValidator channel link.
The Discord username and user ID of the reported member.
The server where the situation began.
A short explanation of what happened.
Relevant screenshots, screen recordings, or surrounding context.
Whether the issue is ongoing or already ended.
Only the most important messages that are relevant to your report should be published.
Ahrism1 Security with a MessageValidator message link can view that single archived message, but they cannot see the rest of the Direct Message conversation. A MessageValidator channel link allows Security to view every messsage that you publicized from that chat.
Do not publicize unrelated private information, sensitive personal details unrelated to doxxing reports, or messages that are not needed for the report.
If sensitive information is included, you may choose to unpublicize the relevant messages after your report is handled.
While required, validation is not a substitution for screenshots. In the
Discord screenshots and screen recordings can be edited, spoofed, generated, or manipulated. This includes fake screenshots, altered browser displays, edited videos, recreated Discord interfaces, AI image generation, and other forms of fabricated evidence.
MessageValidator verifies to Security that a reported message actually exists or has at one point existed. It creates a public snapshot of a specific Discord message, including its content and author at the time of publication.
This protects reporters, accused users, and the wider community by reducing false reports, forged evidence, and disputes over whether a screenshot is real.
MessageValidator does not give Ahrism1 Security access to your Discord account, Direct Messages, or private conversations. It only publicizes a specific message when you manually choose Publicize Message on that message.
